View from the house - quiet surrounding!

As the main town on the island, Westerland naturally provides the widest range of entertainment options. Here you can spend your holiday as a nature lover but also experience lifestyle, culture, culinary pleasures, nightlife and excellent shopping.

The peace and the direct view of open countryside give this holiday home its character. It is situated on a residents-only road on the outskirts of Westerland, surrounded by green meadows and fields. On the map you will notice the busy ring road, but in fact you will hardly notice it and depending on the wind direction may not notice it at all. The situation of the house is not affected by the airport either. So you can enjoy directly riding into the countryside on your bicycle or start out on a long, beautiful walk with your dog directly from the house. It is one kilometre to the nearest beach crossing in Westerland and 2.5 kilometres to Friedrichstraße in the centre of town. The baker and the nearest mini-supermarket are close to the hospital (Nordseeklinik) about 400 metres away, and otherwise you can drive 2 kilometres to Wenningstedt for Germany’s most prize-winning delicatessen Meyer or three kilometres to Tinnum for Aldi, Lidl and Co. In Westerland you are in a central location on the island, so that distances are not far in any direction.

You can hire bicycles at many places, the nearest perhaps being on the main road in Wenningstedt. Exploring the island by bike from Beach House 2 is a wonderful experience, the cycle paths being very well laid out. For example, ride through Wenningstedt-Braderup and Munkmarsch to Keitum – the oldest Frisian village on the island. Coming back from there through Tinnum and Westerland is a splendid tour, which you can extend into the Tinnum meadows or shorten along the country road (Keitumer Landstrasse)....

On Sylt you are normally very well provided in culinary terms. We have put some recommendations into the guest file in the holiday house. In addition to famous names like Gosch‘s “Alte Bootshalle” in List and the “Sansibar” in Rantum you will also find a few insider tips.
